Our Story
Located in beautiful Lancaster County on the Conestoga River, our homestead has continued to evolve as our love for animals, as well as our community, grows.
ABOUT THE FARM
It all started with rescuing and just grew from there. We started out by saving a few stray cats and then we fostered our first dog. It was off to the races from there. A few different jobs, a pizza shop, 3 kids, and multiple homes later, we found ourselves our very own forever home...our Grateful 'Stead.
Meet the chickens!
With multiple breeds such as Silkies and Bramas, we tend to find quite a few eggs laying around. This is Vinnie. He runs the show here.
Turkeys too!
We didn't set out to have turkeys; it just happened. We were asked to take one in, the infamous Professor Wiggins (the Bourbon Red Turkey pictured here behind his buddy Joker), but you can’t just have ONE turkey…
Pigs aRE perfect for farming!
Natural rototillers and consumers of absolutely ANYTHING, pigs are essential to our farming process. They make pretty cute piglets too.
You have goats?
Yes.....why? They're cute and it's absolutely hilarious to hang out with them. Never a dull moment with Shish and Dolly!
Ever been greeted by ducks?
If you've ever seen a family of ducks waddling across the street, just imagine if they were barreling down a hill towards you....cuteness overload.
